About the Course

In this course we will use NGSS to guide our planning to align with science application skills, crosscutting concepts and science content in a real-world context to engage students. By understanding the purpose and depth of the NGSS we will design activities and lessons that align with our content, and that provide a well-rounded scientific inquiry experience that may be otherwise lacking from more generally specified state standards.  We will explore strategies, materials and resources to not only incorporate the in-depth exploration of the NGSS, but to have it drive an exciting, engaging classroom that will transform what science should be for our students.

Students should expect to spend approximately 3 hours per week doing coursework. This class is available for 1 graduate credit.
